The older I become the less rash and foolhardy I also find myself, indeed age and time is the ultimate taming whip and I submit to thee. My oldest blogs from the late 90s were usually rife with profanity, foul judgments, and sometimes violent extremism. This mass of work spanning almost 15 years, if plotted on a graph of sorts, would show a high maturity curve over the body. The highlight of which is at the current work, which would mostly involve a blogging of nature, light politics and personal feelings. This lightening of my blogging has certainly been a result of my renaissance of photography and hiking, it really is hard to get some wild and brutal writing going when you are surrounded by baby birds and flowers and shit.
This being my current standard I would like to issue an official retraction of my poorly judged and over the top hate blog of Bradford Pear Trees:
RETRACTION:
Oh regal and magnificent Bradford Pear I now understand what for decades you were trying to tell me. You are in fact a whisper of perfection, a glimmer of hope, a standard of which all cheap-ass contractor grade tree plantings should aspire. A trunk? You don't need one, only branches plunging forth from mother earth herself, thereby providing a most delicate of stances easily felled by the lackluster-est of storms. You have always been there beckoning me to bask in the glory of your wondrous spring flora, white flowers with tiny black spots of amazing dichotomy that play a fiddle-song of yin and yang. One can hardly fathom a springtime breathe not fully punctuated with your heavy bacon/sperm/dead person odorous essence. Finally let us not forget how fast the dance of life we lead truly is, as your short 12 year lifespan gives us all pause and reflection, because sadly life is too short, and you will eventually crash against our house. The irony of course being your $14.99 carcass will do 60K in damage, sweet tragedy! So in closing to you oh filigreed-assed Bradford Pear, I know retract 30 years of hate from the universe and bestow upon thee a rightful place in my heart.
