Minecraft is a sandbox game which allows players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D world. It is currently in development by Markus Persson (under the pseudonym "Notch"). The game has two variants, Alpha and Classic, both with single- and multiplayer options. Classic includes only the building aspects of the game with unlimited blocks, while Alpha includes monsters and a much greater variety of crafting available, as well as requiring players to mine their own blocks. Alpha is currently the latest release ofMinecraft, and plans to move into beta sometime in October 2010.
This is one of the most unusual and engaging experiences to be had with such a simple medium. Firstly the graphics are extremely Nintendo 64 retro awesome mixed in with a world that is believed to be three times larger than the actual earth. You are dropped into a random generated world with each new save file and must immediately begin construction of a base or at least a shelter. Why you ask? Simple at night and underground in deep dark mines are filled with skeletons, zombies and other hate-filled hissing monsters. The AI of the creatures is amazing, with line of sight aggro, and hearing. This adds to the overal spook show factor to an already somewhat uneasy play through. My giant tower above is my second base, due to the bloodthirsty night raids, I built myself a very high base with a rock footing because some of the nightly awfulness actually explode on contact. This removes all feeling of safety in un-sturdy walls and foundations, again adding to the horror of night.
(Spooky dark mines and fissures everywhere!)
I being somewhat claustrophobic in my advanced age have also noted quite to my surprise the scary reality of being ten miles deep in a hand dug mine, I was actually feeling anxious at one point when some of the ground broke free and left me about five blocks deeper than I was ready for. I looked up from my monitor with a genuine spook, and thought to myself, "wow they really nailed atmosphere." Like I said earlier it's hard to peg down what makes the gameplay somehow sinister in this seemingly happy colorful block world. Maybe it's the hate of all the monsters cloaked in darkness, or the rooms of skeleton hordes deep in the mines. Perhaps the unusual tepid music lends to a psychiatry of looniness. Something about being completely alone and naked in a world of monsters? Whatever it is the game can at times be downright terrifying, and a hell of a lot of fun. I would eagerly recommend anyone interested, get in on the ground floor of this alpha/beta stage, (for seven dollars) the lifetime fee is an absolute steal.
(Freaking panic attack, if in the dark/with headphones on full-screened and this doesn't weird you out you just really have no imagination, reality=douchfest)
I had a dream to start my firm, but I didn't have got enough amount of money to do this. Thank God my friend recommended to utilize the home loans. Therefore I used the car loan and realized my desire.
